Thank you Wendy for sharing your story, your tender poem and your little red-haired girl with us. Wishing you many small joys, they are the true gifts, the balm.
This poem is so beautiful. What an extraordinary thing, to have made it out of so much pain, and what an incredible honouring of your daughter. Thank you so much for sharing it. 💜
Dear Wendy, this is not only a beautiful poem, but also a description of what a devastating loss feels for some of us. Roland Barthes wrote: “Don’t say Mourning. It’s too psychoanalytic. I’m not mourning. I’m suffering.” I remember this while reading your poem. The right word is suffering
I started subscribing not knowing your history of loss, but I see how it makes sense. I lost my toddler almost 10 years ago and these are my sentiments exactly. "The experience of this loss has changed me as a person, has gifted me a different way of looking at the world." Thank you.
This is such a tender and beautiful poem. Thank you for sharing your story.
