Dear Wendy, this is not only a beautiful poem, but also a description of what a devastating loss feels for some of us. Roland Barthes wrote: “Don’t say Mourning. It’s too psychoanalytic. I’m not mourning. I’m suffering.” I remember this while reading your poem. The right word is suffering

I started subscribing not knowing your history of loss, but I see how it makes sense. I lost my toddler almost 10 years ago and these are my sentiments exactly. "The experience of this loss has changed me as a person, has gifted me a different way of looking at the world." Thank you.
