I enjoyed the post on scents. Here's a haiku:

like bees, sniff yellow

wild goldenrod flowers -- wait

for fall honey crop

Note: Not a surprise, but bees have a great sense of smell. I was smelling goldenrod flowers close up yesterday and remembering how strongly fall honey smells of goldenrod which is very common where I live and they are blooming now.

How beautiful. We have a local farm that sells honey and I've seen the hives where I walk. I wonder what flowers the bees are visiting.

Thanks :-) When bees start visiting a good flower source of nectar/pollen, they like to stick with the one kind. One of the many neat things about bees.

Lovely. We've seen a lot of goldenrod growing wild when we've been out walking.

Yes, we have a couple of wild patches in our garden beds and I've left them there. When honey is mostly from goldenrod it's darker and has a lovely rich smell (like the flowers!). Honey made in the summer is often from clover and is lighter in colour and flavour.

I hadn't know any of that!

I kept a few hives years and years ago :-)

That was brave! I've been stung a few times and react badly, not anaphylaxis but pain and swelling.
