Wise words just the ticket as my Mum would say But it’s so hard to be this old and passive, too old to do much else. If I had the stamina I would be waving a flag, climbing a tree, gluing myself to the road, splashing paint on Van Gogh. Sometimes I think I’d be ok in prison, fed and watered. I’m a very quiet person who has to shout. I want to see a revolution before I die, a revolution of love and justice, want to see the mind set change. The odds are so stacked against peace.Nuclear war seems more likely every day. But then would it be of any use at all to be locked within 4 walls, not to see the clouds and to smile at those bluetits in the stone birdbath and who would feed the dog?
Thanks for such wise and thoughtful words, Wendy. Sometimes we just need to focus on the small things that we can do to make a difference in this wild and precious life.
Funnily enough, by the way, I just wrote a poem in which I have a chat with Mary Oliver. But I’d never actually heard her voice so lovely to have that! Her voice is kind of how I imagined it. WISE.
Thank you for this Wendy. A fabulous deep breath. Sadly, won’t be able to make the 27th except in spirit. I’m looking forward to seeing your book. Best wishes. X
Thank you, Wendy. This is why I subscribe!
Thanks Jay x
Poignant and beautifully written, Wendy. And how nice to hear Mary Oliver!
Isn't it lovely to hear her reading.
Stunning post Wendy, everything that we need to hear right now. Thank you!

Thanks, Wendy!
Two beautiful poems - one new to me, one special. It would be a shame to miss out on the wonder of this life but focusing only on its violence.
Your piece is encouraging. xx
Thank you for this - you’ve articulated it so well. Sx

Wonderful piece of writing Wendy. Connection is everything, and you’ve connected with my heart this morning. X
