Thank you so much for recommending Writing Days, Wendy. I am definitely an older writer. I started when I was fifty, and a writer in residence in the prison where I worked gave me permission to write. It changed my life and I’m still going strong at seventy!

I feel incredibly fortunate to receive your recommendation, and particuarly within a piece which contains the names of such writers as these. Thank you so much, Wendy.

It is hard for older writers especially if they're not known. Tanya's book is inspirational, but she was relatively young. The pressures are different for a woman in her 70s. Expectations are key, that I can identify with. Battle with.

There is a real blind spot in the literary world for women in particular who are older.

Such a great read Wendy and so true. One of the things I've taken away from our mentoring sessions is the need to prioritise an protect creative time - I'm still not great at doing it but definitely more able to give myself permission to try. Thankyou so much for the recommendation too.
