Ghost lake Rising - A Brand New Online Course for Paid Subscribers
Finding the ghosts of your self in the landscape you inhabit
This week has been spent mainly on train platforms, travelling on trains and standing in front of audiences - Waterstones York, Women of Words Hull and tonight The Little Ripon Bookshop. It feels wonderful to be getting in front of audiences and making those writer/reader connections face to face.
Every audience has been engaged, with brilliant questions and warm responses, which is heartening. This is the part of being an author where the book is out in the world and your job is to remind people that it is out there, that it would make perfect autumnal reading, that if you have read it, you could help me immensely by leaving a review on Amazon or Goodreads or wherever you bought your copy.
The Ghost Lake is available for sale online, in your local bookshop, as an audio book, an e book and, of course, in your local library.

October - A brand new course - Ghost Lake Rising
Do you want to connect your internal landscape to your external landscape, but are not sure where to start?
Would you like to find inspiration in the work of published authors?
Explore the map of your life
In this four week course you’ll be taking inspiration from extracts of poetry, memoir and creative non fiction to search for your own self in the landscape of your own life.
How does your landscape mirror your life?
What is your internal landscape - river, forest, bog, mountain? How does that landscape speak?
This course is free to paid subscribers and will be available to book externally from next week (booking details coming soon)
If you are already a paid subscriber you don’t have to do anything to register, course notes will automatically arrive in your inbox via a paywalled substack post every Friday in October. You’ll have access to the private facebook group where I’ll be bobbing in and out offering feedback.
I can’t wait to work with you again!
Until next time

Wendy, just finished The Ghost Lake. I much enjoyed and learned from your movement between inner and outer landscapes, to borrow your own words. I will be reviewed for Shiny New Books. Meanwhile, you might like to check out postings on Learning How Land Speaks for writing in similar vein Seeing, feeling, and hearing the world https://peterreason.substack.com/p/seeing-feeling-and-hearing-the-world from an Australian Indigenous perspective, and the two following responses from European views including from bioregionalist Etain Addey https://peterreason.substack.com/p/etain-addey-in-umbria. Hope your courses run well.
This sounds really lovely Wendy!
